Worcestershire Workshop day - May 13th

Post by AMCQ46 »

As threatened a few times in other threads. I will be happy to host a workshop day at my house on Worcestershire / Warwickshire border [ie 20 miles south of Brum].

format is the same as the original one initiated by Tony.mon.... You do the work on your own bike, but you will have the help and assistance of others who have already done the jobs many times.

typical jobs we have done before:

fitted MCCTs.
Done Stopper Mod to standard CCT
fork rebuild with new springs and oil
new taper steering head bearings
wheel bearings changed
full service [oil change, air and oil filter change and new plugs]
Carb balancing
valve clearance check and change shims
brake caliper swaps
talking crap and taking the piss
drinking tea
spilling tea
smoking fags
standing around

will be on a Saturday so there will be some shops open if we need to get any spares.

Tools - I have just about everything you would need, but is always best to bring the frequently used basics [8mm, 10mm, 14mm socket, and common Allen keys etc] so you are not waiting for others.

consumables - you make sure you bring your own oil / filters / bearings / MCCTs for the job, but stuff like grease, rags, WD40, metal to do stopper mods etc I can provide.

Tea Coffee and a BBQ will be provided and there will be a ride out to test the bikes after the work is done.

When? - will be a late spring date, but I wont pin it down till I get some more input

SO anybody interested? and what jobs are you hoping to do?

Podman - Stopper mod
Richard - Valve clearance and carb balance
wkb666 - MCCT?

Might turn up if it's a nice weekend, nothing needs doing though.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

180 miles away and I'll probably have my running fine but I could head up for the fun of it.
If you don't try you never know if you can do it.

If I'm free I'll come along to help make the numbers up. Might even volunteer to be Kevs keeper for the day so he doesn't get into any difficulties

ok, a good level of interest, and a few people who actually want to do work on their bikes.

MrsMcQ says if Lloydie and Marty are coming, she will file for a restraining order to keep you out of the house

I will post up a few potential dates that avoid the Pitbike racing weekends
