hope the weather stays dry for you boys tomorrow,,, no doing a roasty.
Re: End of Season VTR Club Track Day
well ..... I went to take a few snaps which will be on here when I get a minute. I missed the first 3 sessions I think? and went home before the last one . I enjoyed it and when I left no one had hurt themselves but there were mechanical issues for a couple of bikes and a couple of people weren't dressed properly, but they had gone before I got there ..
I rode about 265ish miles over 6ish hours and was quite glad to be home
im sure the guys who had a go will be on here with chapter and verse in a bit
Good fun

Re: End of Season VTR Club Track Day
back home and knackered.... good day with the forum boys though
big thanks to
Stuart wags for the field kitchen and some cracking grub
Tony for the monster tent, even though it smelled of fart and dripped condensation
Ady for turning up sunday just to say hello and getting soaked for his ride how, good to see ya you short haired hippy.
Lumpy for bringing teal into the equation and hopefully taking some good photos
Good to meet a new face . Nick, sorry about the farting
Chris & Tim you were way faster today
shame the Facebook brothers didn't get to ride as they didn't know they had to wear leather jackets not textiles, long drive from Southampton, but at least they were in a B&B sunday night so were spared the farting.

Re: End of Season VTR Club Track Day
It turned out to be a really good day for me. Managed to identify a multitude of issues with the bike so I now have some addition winter projects.
However, hustling my bike around the wet track with virtually solid suspension and brand new shiny road tyres was quite entertaining in a strange way.
Thanks Chris and Tony for setting up the event and accommodation.. And thanks Alistair for restoring some conformance to my suspension before the clutch stopped working.

Re: End of Season VTR Club Track Day
I pretty much went straight to bed when I got home, I was so knackered.
Great day though despite the things that went wrong.
First Steve couldn't make it - hope your back is better soon.
The guys with VTRs from facebook didn't realise they needed leathers, so turned up on the morning to get told they couldn't go on track.
First session out in the damp Tony had a low speed slide on the grass. Very happy there was no damage and he was able to carry on.
After the sighting laps, it came over the tannoy "can everyone in the orange group check their bikes for oil leaks as there is oil round the whole track"....turns out it's me. Oops. After an hour we worked out it was coming out of the clutch rod hole as I had put the rod in the wrong way, so missed the second session.
Stuart was next, with his clutch slipping. When he stripped it, the slave piston got pushed too far out and couldn't be pushed back in. That was the end of his day.
We ended up with pretty much 4 dry sessions which were really good.
I wish I had taken the VTR in the end, I took the GSXR as it looked like I'd need wets. Turns out it wasn't wet enough for wets, but not dry enough for dry tyres in first 3 sessions, the road tyres on the VTR would have been spot on.
Also my bike still made that horrible clunking sound, pretty sure it's the chain though so going to get that replaced over winter.
Anyway as Al said, big thanks to Tony for the monster tent and Stuart for the catering
Al it would have probably been closer with matching tyres, you said you were getting a little bit of movement? A hot track tyre would give a lot of confidence to push harder.
