OP storm SW Scotland Mk5, Aug 4th to 7th 2017
Friday till Monday, but if you cant do all the days just join in for the days you can.
Friday ride up from Settle to Kirkcudbright is already a fun ride, and I am sure we will do the route over Hartside Pass like we did this year........ well worth the trip if you can only ride Friday.
Same location - Kirkcudbright in Dumfries & Galloway
Same format - meet up at various locations on the way up on Friday, the good roads start from Settle, so get there if you can. Out for a pub meal and on the piss Friday night, big breckie at cafe in the morning and out onto the best biking roads for all of Saturday. More food and drink, then a shorter ride out sunday and either stay an extra night or head off home late afternoon..
Look at the details from last 4 years rides for more info, all are welcome and any kind of bike, so bring a mate / brother / son / wife........ the town has lots to do each weekend over the summer so even if your partner is not going out on the rides, there is plenty to do and join up again for the eating / drinking / banter........ my wife will be doing that.
Campsite or local b&bs are great [update - There is an event in the town that weekend and B&Bs look to be fully booked }
the usual suspects had better make sure they get here, the locals will miss you if you don't come
AMCQ46 - Heading up from Worcester area Friday and collecting the lads as I go, going home sunday.
Mrs AMCQ46, going up in the car and not coming out on the bike, but will join for the eating & drinking and falling over.

CheekyKev - most likely not

adyF - not coming as he has found a new woman who now own his balls
Sputnic KTM James- doubtful as impending sprog is the priority

Just to add to this, if any of you southern fairies want to come to this, you're welcome to ride up to my house (Bramham, near Wetherby just off A1M) and stay over Thursday evening, have breakfast and leave for Settle then Scotland at about 10.30am.

That's very generous Ziggy but I don't the London boys could handle it... All those great roads, open spaces, lack of traffic, they wouldn't know what to do with itMiztaziggy wrote:Just to add to this, if any of you southern fairies want to come to this, you're welcome to ride up to my house

I'm sure we could find a few traffic jams, built up areas, road works, speed cameras and traffic lights to cheer them up though.

Re: OP storm SW Scotland Mk5, Aug 4th to 7th 2017
hopefully next time, I had intended to be there this year and we already had a family trip planned visiting friends, interestingly those friends live in Scotland so I thought perfect I can make this work in my favour I'll put the bike in the van and drop the wife and kids off then head over to meet you guys. What I didn't realise is quite how big (or more accurately how wide) Scotland is. Our friends have a small holding in a little town called Reston just past Berwick on the east coast so I thought it would be a fairly simple matter of just 'nipping' across, not so it's a bloody long way, I can't remember exactly how far in miles it was but the sat nav was saying 3hrs + so in the end I bottled it and decided it was to going to be to far .AMCQ46 wrote:you going to come to this one Budd?, you would like it
