KermitLeFrog wrote:Not straight forward. Download as waypoints, not a route. Copy the list of waypoints into Basecamp. Click on the "track" at the bottom of the list of waypoints and turn it into a route (which recalculates it). Copy it into internal memory. Discconnect gps. Turn on gps and it recognises a new track which you then recalculate and mark it as a route and it shows up in "Trip Planner".

Got it sorted now.

If you download it as a route it doesn't work.

I found an easier solution - I am lazy.

1) don't even bother with Base camp, connect your GPS to your computer and download the GPX track file direct to the zumo. there is an internal folder called GPX, so put the file there.
2) switch on the Garmin and select the "Apps" icon from the home screen, then select" tracks" on that menu.
3) scroll down the "saved" tab and you will find your file, select the file and it will show it on the map.
4) there will be a spanner icon on the top right, so press that and from that menu select "convert to Trip"
5) once this is done the file will appear in your Trip Planner section and you use it as normal from there.

final tip is to disable the "off route recalculation" in the navigation settings - or set it to "prompted" so it wont change your planned route when you leave the path for any reason.

looks like the sunday ride group will be small [but perfectly formed  ] Ady, PeteL, GrumpyFrog and Me...... As the Irish drinking team need to get a ferry for 3pm, we should be able to ride with them for the 1st half and drop them off in Girvan to carry on down to Stranraer

Not quite as excited as Stuart. I'm surprised he's even contemplating leaving his camp site to come join us

Ali, My present plan is to try and get away Thursday about 6:30 pm and make my way up to you. Work is way busy at at the moment, I was hoping to be a little earlier and see if I could take you guys out for dinner as recompense for putting me up. What works for you guys?

As I guessed I was going to get paid in food, I took the liberty of booking a Michelin starred restaurant for 8.30, so don't be late :D

But in reality, as Paula has her mum staying at the moment she will have already cooked so we will make sure there is a plate of scraps left for you and you can buy me a pint later

So any time, no rush
