Re: Introducing myself
Hi & welcome,
Just read about your 5000rpm issue & think it could be a carb diaphragm problem. Either not seated well or a hole in the rubber.
I had a similar experience once & that's what it was. Rev'd well in neutral, but wouldn't rev beyond 5000rpm in any gear when on the road.
Hope you get it sorted btw![Thumbup ](./images/smilies/icon_thumbup.gif)

Re: Introducing myself
welcome to the forum and good luck with your motorThetoaddude wrote:Hello all,
I've been looking at the forum for a while now and making use of the excellent workshop tips so it's about time I joined in properly.
I've been riding for nearly 25 years and while I had a poster of a Firestorm on my office wall in '97 it's taken me this long to finally get one. I knew she was a fixer-upper, but not quite how much of one (rose tinted specs well and truly deployed at purchase).
All the MOT stuff is done so she's got a ticket but the motor won't go properly. Look out for me on the workshop section soon....
