I think it is, as the colour code ends with an M. Thanks, so far so good!

Does this Pro xl clear lacquer give a good tough finish does anyone knowWicky wrote: For a final finish I would recommend pro-xl clear lacquer
For the localised repair and finish remember to carefully blend the spray to the existing paintwork.

Oh. It's a good job I still have enough left for one more coat then haha, or would it make a massive difference if I left it for a couple of days then just applied the lacquer?
Re: My poor Storm :(
I've lacquered it and it looks awful. Massive orange peel effect. Is there anything I can do to make it look half decent? Fine wet and dry and polish perhaps?? The amount of time and money it's cost, I should have left it to the professionals ha

Re: My poor Storm :(
try using some G3 compound to work off the orange peel, but i'm sure a much more imformed person will give you better advice in a mo.
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: My poor Storm :(
Orange peel is usually a result of spraying on too thick of a film. Try spraying an extremely THIN FILM, but still WET coat. A wet coat being “no dry spots that you think will flow together” and at the other end “no puddles or runs”.
First you'll need to let it dry well before you wetndry it with a fine paper and water. Keep rubbing it until the water residue just begins to pick up the underlaying black and the orange peel effext has been smoothed out. Clean it up dry, and begin applying the lacquer but not so thickly.

I sanded them down lightly with 1200 grit wet and dry, followed by some rubbing compound and finally some super resin polish. Doesn't look that bad actually, so parts are better than others. All back on the bike and ready for a wash and another polish, just in time for the rain
Re: My poor Storm :(
Well done - was the repair near any of the decals or did you work around them?

Re: My poor Storm :(
Well, I stupidly thought it better to do the whole fairing, so I did the tail and front left. My god I wish I'd just done a local repair. Didn't think at the time!! I ordered some decals from Ralf over on the Facebook site and received them today. Job done, just in time for my visit to Tony next weekend! God, that's going to be a cold ride...

Haha, wait until I've got the decals on and I've given them a polish... I'll use my low resolution camera too
