"Cafe racers" (or whatever)
Re: "Cafe racers" (or whatever)
Interesting to read that Tony It's reminded me of a mate of ours back when we were still in our late teens, he had a one of these little Honda's too. I have never known a bike to take so much hammering, it just kept on going and going, an amazing little bike,

Like that one. Beautiful workmanship and dig the box section subframe.

I know it's a bit "mainstream" if that's even possible for a custom bike builder, but the BMW Concept 90, which the eventual RNineT was based on, remains one of my favourite looking bikes of all time..
Ugh if I could get my hands on one of them my life would be complete

It's a stunning motorcycle. Is it the one Roland sands did?Motomvk wrote:I know it's a bit "mainstream" if that's even possible for a custom bike builder, but the BMW Concept 90, which the eventual RNineT was based on, remains one of my favourite looking bikes of all time..

As beautiful as these are and there's no denying the quality of the craftsmanship, I'm more into bikes like the egeland harrier, the Avon bmw, the confederate fighter (in spite of me not being into cruisers) or any of the confederate bikes. I like bare bones nakedness (oo er).

I had to google a couple of those, that Avon Beemer looks immense, not sure about the Egeland Harrier thing though I reckon that's more of an acquired taste
Re: "Cafe racers" (or whatever)
Talking of RNineT's:
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

The Ducati looks gorgeous, though, let's face it, standard ducatis are off to a head start when it comes to looks.
But.......If I won the lottery I'd be on the phone to Mr egeland to build me one o them there harrier's.

Re: "Cafe racers" (or whatever)
Oh, you can kill them easily enough, I went through seven engines getting to 100k.Watty wrote:My ex also had one and try as she did, could not kill itsirch345 wrote:Interesting to read that Tony It's reminded me of a mate of ours back when we were still in our late teens, he had a one of these little Honda's too. Some ran on Castrol R, just for the smell......it didn't half wind up British bike owners on runs!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I love this. A headlight can make or break the aesthetics and this one (in context of the idea) is perfect.
Ok, by the time you've put on tyres to suit actually riding in Blighty and something resembling a front mudguard, you're compromising. Still love it though. Fun and funky.
