Sadly. He died.Kev L wrote:Talking of old members does anyone remember Wayne M from stanstead? He was a member through 2003 and his bike sounds a bit special, carbon fibre tank, mario body kit, usd front, Penske rear, and lots of other bits and bobs.
I was looking through some old posts and his bike kept coming up, unfortunately all picture links have gone
I'm soooo glad you remembered that Pete, as it was in the back of my mind it was WayneM who unfortunately lost his life on the way to a Firestorm meet up, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I couldn't post that up without being certain. You can just imagine if I'd got the wrong personPete.L wrote:Sadly. He died.Kev L wrote:Talking of old members does anyone remember Wayne M from stanstead? He was such a charismatic character, he was one of the reasons I went to the first ever Firestorm meet. I wanted to meet the man and his bike( which was the heaviest modded storm I had ever seen and dripping in carbon)..
Unfortunately he never made it. On his way a car pulled out on him and that was that. One poor young man in his mid thirties, leaving a loving wife and two daughters if I remember correctly, taken away far too early.
Such a shame

As said, an utter tragedy.firestorm_al wrote:I found one photo of Wayne's VTR in my backups. It was a stunning bike.

Dell was a motor mechanic for some team down at Brands. He had all sorts of contacts from different manufacturers if I recall correctly, hence all the trick bits. We passed a few messages back and forth for a while. Unfortunately his heart just wasn't into bikes anymore after what happened to Wayne ( they were riding up together when it happened) Don't know what he's up to now. He was supping up cars and got into drifting after the accident.Kev L wrote:Poor sod. Sorry to stir up old memories chaps. Beautiful looking bike, just as good as it sounded in the description.
He had all the work done by a guy called Dell, another past member on here with some skills, apparently.
Thanks to all for the update.
