Tried and tested arms

Post by Sir-knob-head »

What swing arms have been fitted to your bikes.

And what mods were needed?

I have a viffer8 arm Which would need mods

Have the stock swinger which I might put proper adjusters on

Thinking bout the sp arm

954 arm

Loads of possibles just Curious

sp2 has been done, needs lots of work tho, vfr750/800 has been done on many storms, if done well it can look good, but remember it's heavier and longer than the oem swinger.
a good option is the blade braced oem swinger, there's a guy doing the conversions on facebook, he also sells them on ebay.
although rare, there are a few metmachex knocking around, something like 900 new tho :eek2
I've also seen triumph single sided swingers used on a storm.

I don't know mate, but side by side you can tell the bike with the sssa is longer, it will effect handling slightly, people only really fit them from a looks perspective.

I wanna do it simply. Because it would suit the bike I have designed in my head

Look at a superduke 1290 That. But a Honda storm and bare bones No lights

I have a Ducati 796 monster front end. Was thinking about the same rear wheel. Orrrrrrr the 3 spoke multistrada / panigale wheels

I don't want it to be toooooooo blingy because I want to ride it hard. But I want to be able to show it off

The original arm would work. But boring

that's why some people do the braced conversion. together with an R1 hugger which is more angular, checkout pictures of jamoi's bike

You can also weld the brace on underneath the arm.
And plate in the gaps, which probably doesn't add any rigidity worth noticing, but might look better.

Remember you'll need to figure out the brake mount plate, though, with a brace the standard one won't fit.

You'll have the advantage of being able to fit the pipes around your arm, so that won't be a problem, so what about a gull wing?

Probably too retro now
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

In the last hour I have switched between stock. And sssa about 30 times

I'm worn out. So now I'm concentrating on the athletics. I mean panels
