Up your tickover to 1200 or so and balance the carbs this should sort most of it out , all the info to do this and many other things is on here, so get reading but mainly, enjoy

Good advice already been given on your hesitation issue. Just to add (I don't think anyone else mentioned it) the spark plugs my be getting past their best,

Good suggestion Virt - with the keyring tapping on the yoke.

Made me wonder if the "clicking" isn't his wife on the back "tutting loudly as he ain't going fast enough....... :lol:

Wow, lots of lovely replies to go at here, but would you believe it, since I wrote that it hasn't done it!

I did try cruising 55/60 mph in 5th and 6th but it feels like i'm making the bike work too hard to pull, it seems to feel just right in 4th.

It's definitely not the keyring :) I did however make a mental note to try new plugs as that sounds (and feels) distinctly possible.

Glad you like the picture of the missus, I actually posted that cos I thought it was a cool angle for the bike, best not tell her that though :)
