longtime overdue makeover
longtime overdue makeover
as in my intro i've had my storm since 98 and has never been apart or seen a dealer spanner after its first service, regular oil/filter changes and general maintenance has kept this bike on the road relatively problem free ( 1xregulator,couple of batterys and chains ). so i decided to do the changes to the bike that have bugged me while i give the bike a good going over , i have always not liked the silver frame/swinger /hangers or basically anything silver . so a total strip down has taken place
found a couple of things that explain a running problem i had, notice the 'o' ring on the left carb has been nipped , this must have been from the factory , and the choke had got a bit furred up
a few things i have already had coated
built a engine stand so i can work on it easier strip the bits off i'm doing black
will keep updating as it goes on

Just about to build an engine mount myself
Will yours hold the engine solid enough to run the engine?

Re: longtime overdue makeover
brilliant never noticed the audrey thing , the stand is quite sturdy but think it would fire off the table if fired up the old looking race bike is a rd50mx which i modified a bit and fitted a yz80 motox engine
got a couple of fizzys, one i modified and a standard one
and a modified x7
and a hell of alot of work to bring this pop up back to life

Love all the little smokers, looking at getting a nice expansion pipe for my old kh125 and making it a 17yr old boy racer replica.

Katana was the bike to have back in the day. Hopefully yours won't have the dent in the tank!
