Break levers
Break levers
Just taken delivery of a set of Chinese levers. Long silver with gold adjuster. Haven't fitted them yet but they do look really nice.

Re: Break levers
I got some black short ones they have been great
Re: Break levers
Be careful with some Chinese front brake levers as they can appear to fit okay but cause the brake to drag damaging and warping disks.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: Break levers
not only, they can cause brake fluid overheat resulting in malfuntion of whole brake system.Wicky wrote:Be careful with some Chinese front brake levers as they can appear to fit okay but cause the brake to drag damaging and warping disks.
Re: Break levers
Thanks for the warnings, I will check.
Re: Break levers
They are now fitted, look really good and don't appear to be causing any problems, front break appears fine.

Re: Break levers
I fitted some a couple of months back, no drag on the brakes at all and the fit & adjustment is superb. I pressure-bled my front brakes while I was at it and the difference was huge. Being cheap and chinese I half expected them to be made of mild cheddar, but I have to say the build quality is first rate.

Re: Break levers
Well I have done a good few miles with these levers and as well as looking good they have worked really well. For the money they are great.

Re: Break levers
I too bought some cheap (surprise surprise) Chinese levers,
Had them all this year, still working fine,
However the bike has developed a slight judder when slight braking, goes under heavy braking.
Not sure if this is related as has been said
Bike was MOTd last month so no other issues as such
I can live with it for now though !

Re: Break levers
I had a look at the Lextek CNC sets yesterday at Brands- the quality was surprisingly good.
Less than £30 a pair....
Their exhaust cans were not bad either, well built but bloody heavy.
But cheap....about £100 a side for most types.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
