Will there be someone who knows how to set up a Penske rear shock?
It's more of a case of there being enough bodies there to lift and support you on the bike and take sag measurements.

Rear Sag
It is important that the rear sag is 8mm. Measure from underside of rear subframe to wheel spindle
1) Take all the rebound off
2) Push firmly down on seat and allow to return. (Do not bounce) -- Measure
3) Hold rear subframe and lift to "top out" the shock -- Measure. This should be + 8mm greater than measurement 1)
4) Adjust until it is.
5) Set rebound to "fastest possible return, but under control"

and then there's the forks.

1) Set forks with 5mm more pull through the top yoke than standard ie lower the bike down the fork legs by 5mm (MAX 7mm)
2) Set Rebound fully off (screw all way out)
3) Set Preload fully off (all way out)
4) Raise front of bike off the ground and measure from fork seal to underside of bottom yoke. (This is Full Travel) = A
THIS CAN BE DONE BY TILTING THE BIKE OVER ON THE SIDESTAND
5) Return bike to floor
6) Push down firmly and allow to return steadily (do not bounce) - measure = B
7) Lift up with clip-ons (keep wheel on the ground) and allow to settle down (not crash down) - measure = C
8 ) Measurement B+C divided by 2 = D
9) Measurement A minus D = 28mm - 30mm
10) Wind pre-load in until this figure is achieved, keep repeating 6 to 9 until it is correct.
11) Set rebound to "fastest possible return, but under control (screw fully in & than back out probably ¾ to 1¼ turns out)

That's what I'm hoping for. I've had this shock for going on two years.

Oh there will be enough bodies here & Marty has enough sag to go round...

Not wishing to turn this into a suspension thread, but i'll add just a little.

8mm rear static sag is a bit too little for the road, 10-12mm would be better.

Front static sag aim for 25mm, it's not always possible, depends on your forks, but 25mm is what you want.

Rebound, I always set it to return at about the same rate you can compress the shock/forks by pushing down. which is similar to what you said just a different way of saying it, anyway it's just a start point, small adjustments can come later with riding.

Compression on a Penske is a fine adjuster (well it is on mine) the main compression is set within the shock via a shim stack, mine has 6 positions, if the same then start by setting it in the middle, if the bike feels vague at the rear then reduce compression, if it feels loose or like it's sliding then increase comp,Hard to explain compression as it comes across in feel, if you can't get a good feeling from the rear then maybe it needs re-valving.
