Engine needed ...... maybe!

Post by Roly »

Looking potentially like front head cct gone, not stripped yet but thinking it may be easier to just swop the engine.

Anyone got one?

How much?
Thanks

It's worth stripping front head off & getting a look at the full extent of the damage.
Fingers crossed no piston damage.
Then worse scenario replacement head or valves etc in your head. If your engine was sweet before it has to be worth considering.
Engine swap is a major job & expense
Good luck with the repairs, keep us posted

Yes off in situ. Plenty of guidance & info on here. Be methodical, notes & pictures to help you

Yes, situ down with a decent toolkit and sooner or later it will be wriggling in your lap like a paid prossie, looking for change of a tenner.
Strippage is needed.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I agree, worth checking out how much damage has been done first,

Chris.

Failure = auto cct's
2nd bike = manual

That sounds like a statistical proof to me!

Sorry to hear about your (potential) loss. First thing I did when I bought my VTR was fit MCCTs. Feels like I made a good decision.
