Silkoline maintain chain lube, I use it on my bikes and customers bikes, no complaints.
any chain lube will fling off*, to reduce it spray it on after a ride or leave plenty of time for the solvents to dry out, if there's a heavy build up of old lube then new lube will fling off more, clean chain down with brake or chain cleaner then start again.

*dry chain lube like the worth stuff doesn't fling but makes the bike feel like the chains got no lube, tried it and think it's crap. then there's chain wax which only lubes when hot, again in my experience makes the chain feel like it's dry.

My Honda's owners rider specify gear oil which is SAE 80/90 which as we all
know is traditionally used in gearboxes ( say pre-unit British bikes ) and /or seprate
gearboxes ... I personally use 20/50 ... I have a stock of Duckhams still good and I
find this does the job really well a spot on the chain / sprockets every other outing
I have found that cleaning the grit and debris/ film from the chain with diesel fuel oil/ or
paraffin works wonders . I have found that some of the dedicated chain waxes pick
up a lot of road muck etc ... so clean / lightly oil the drive chain is what works for me.
good luck

clean it with brake cleanser, then dry with a rag and apply oil with a brush. I like to check it carefully. If you have ever had one snap whilst riding, it aint nice.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

I use only Bel Ray 6in1. Just spray it on chain, and after few turns wipe excess with rag. No cleaning, quick and easy. In fact, I use this Bel Ray almost on everything :-)

My 520 chain with Alu sprocket seems to be in good condition.

I bet that wheelies well.

It's not oil or wax your chain. I think the idea is to clean and oil your chain and then wax over the top which holds the oil in place and stops if flinging off, which is what the likes of Muc Off try to do by adding Teflon

I only use spray on silkolene chain wax i think it is .. after every outing when the chain is warm i just spray it on the exposed part of the chain and it soaks in in front of you and any solvents will have the time to evaporate.. thinking being on average over three or four outings the whole chain will get it .. chain is dry but obviously lubricated get only a little fling off onto the wheel no rasping or anything. Its lasted well id say done over 10000 miles since it was fitted in dec 07 when i bought the bike. However i think it will get renewed next winter.

Been converted to using 20/50 oil, doing each link with a little oil can, and then clean the excess off with a lint free cloth ,did 200 miles on Saturday with not much fling off (surprisingly)
compared to the sticky spray I normally use, so I will continue with the oil
