Stuttering or running down a cylinder after heavy braking?

Post by Shifty »

Good morning (evening?) all

I'm a member of OzFirestorm and was hoping you could help me out with something I've been unable to solve there.

I've found under hard braking that my VTR stutters, runs poorly and sometimes even runs on one cylinder for a while until it clears itself out.

Aside from selling the bike, how can I solve this?

G Day Shifty :D
Nice to know you guys arn't afaid to come to the experts when you get stuck
Normally it's either one or two things. The vent pipes coming from the carbs or a sticky carb slide.
I'll try and find an old artical about the vent pipes (basically they just need to dangle. If that doesn't work I'd remove the carb slide and polish/smooth the edges of it.
