Hey Mate,
Few times Ive road it this year, backs gone awol again!
Backs another story, I'll say I wish I hadnt had the op if I'm honest.

Its mental! with a capital M went out with a mate the other day, oh I'll over take this car, poddling along in a 60, rolled it on in 3rd from around 45 mph, wasnt paying attention other than seeing my mates full power Vmax vanishing in my mirrors rather quickly, had my head down, glanced at speedo "oh baldrocks was the word lol 115 in 3rd"
Just prior to that, mayday back from Hastings via Camber sands to my mates in Lydd, I know I was popping the wheel up out the corners as its a nice twisty road, got back to my mates and he say, you aware you was spinning the back wheel aswell as popping the front up, I was like er no lol
You can use it like a twist and go!

Mechanically, the engine is loud and rattles, sounds like a ducati lol, its dry sump and alot of engine noises, but that seems to be common, brake pads its eating them but thats more than likely me lol
Build quality is fair to good, have managed to stain the left hand side engine case, used some muck off and left it to long and its stained the engine case coating.
Bolts are a mix of AF and metic, had to have some new head stock bearings, yeah Buell use their own design, made in house £53+vat a bearing, managed to find a dealer in the channel islands done them for £35. all the tripple clamp pinch bolts, metric, top yoke cap nat AF lol
And then I had to have some new tyres hehehe, super corsa lasted 800 miles oops, so trying some Maxis diamonds at the moment, oh guess what you need a torque wrench that torques on a left hand thread, that aint cheep lol
Other than that, bloody good fun, dyno's 146 bhp, 0-60 2.8 seconds, standing quarter, 0-137mph 9.7 seconds.
Ive got to start work on the storm soon, its been sat under a tarp for 9 months now. made space in garage so gonna pull it apart soon.

In honesty, I dont know, all I want to do is go back to work but when I'm flat on my back for a couple days here and a day there, I cant exactly do alot. They have me on a pain killer called Gabapentin which knocks me sideways sometimes. waiting for another appointment with specialist and go from there, think its going to be pain management basically.
Driving anything more than say 35 miles is hard work and about same on bike and I've tried a few cars and bikes lately with no difference, its starting to annoy me now!
Got my meeting with ATOS next week so expecting it to go pear shaped now lol.

Note to everyone LOOK AFTER YOUR BACK!

38 years old and some days I struggle to work or get out a car!
If i end up in a wheel chair, theres a v-twin engine going in it at some point lmao.

Hello mate  Chin up I can tell things are getting your down. I done my back in not so long ago, pulled something while lifting an engine. I was on my back for a week resting it and allowing it to heal up. Self medicated and dosed myself up with NSAID's and tramadol. I know it's was no way the same as yours and I dread to think how bad it feels for you sometimes.

So how comes your still get pain from it. I thought the Op was all about reducing pain at the sacrifice of maybe loosing a bit of movement. Thoughts with your mate, pain is not a nice thing to live with, just try to remain upbeat and not let things drag you down, possibly over-thinking things which causes worries. I'm sure your medical will go fine with your condition it's obvious the lack of movement etc.

The Buel sounds mental mate. The Harley shop down the road from me had an open day last week, check out the pics http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... lit=harley Hows things going with MAG are you still doing your bit for them.

So what's the plans with the Storm then. Maybe a little project to keep you occupied with a bit of tinkering.
