Been standing for 2 years, needs new battery and will need new service, have been assured it will run with new battery.

Storming I cant find that model on here for that year http://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/motorcycles/bike-prices/

Check the log book for the exact model number & have a look.

BM's usually hold their value quite well & go round the clock no worries.

From that pic it look quite clean but I suppose up close it may be different.

Factor in new tyres if it's been standing, they will be a 4 digit date stamp on the side wall in a little oval...1 to 52 is the week 99/00/01 ect will be the year. anything over 10 year s they are scrap ! As your looking check for cracks. If it needs new boots bid him down a couple of hundred.

Bid him down anyway !

These are fantastic bikes, almost got one before the Storm but it was a few grand more at the time.
like the Storm, very underestimated road bike. if you don't take it, let us know as im sure I know someone who would take it.

I think I'm going to take the bike, I haven't owned a BMW before so I'll give it a whirl, gonna offer £800 for it, I believe its a 1998 model, but for some reason he said 1994, he's my foreman so I don't see any issues with it.

Check the alarm if it has one - I bought an SV650 which had spent 2 years festering and the alarm's internal battery went FUBAR whilst I changed the bike battery. Shorting the alarm out was worryingly easy once I'd figured it out but still a PITA and frustrating.

Yep there good, but check for slipping clutch as engine has to come out, rear leak from drive shaft too as thats dear to fix, also they use a bit of Oil, don't buy the one with servo brakes, there no better and 3 k to fix if its gone, apart from that very good bikes but wide!!!

wide as in big cylinders poking out the side, i had to fit double gates to get mine in my carport. Great ride though once your used to it, as I've said they do use a bit of oil, generally smoke a little on start up as oil drains off to the LH cyl head when on the stand, sound "Different" but are a great ride, telelever forks are great, brake as hard as you like and NO dive at all. Quality build. My servo was bolloxed and would have cost £3 to fix, i park ex it at CW Motorcycles in Dorchester.( Great Garage)

oh and getting to the battery to fit it is a right shite job! apart from that, surprise people on it.i did

I've had my offer accepted of £800, I will get the bike delivered in a few week, change the battery, service it, get the bike MOT done and then if I like it keep it if not put it on EBay, I won't lose out.

Yeah I will do, thing is once I have serviced and MOT the bike I would probably stick it up for £1600 Judging by what they go for on EBay and such.

Or might even do a swap for a nice Storm.
