Any Body Took Their Bike To Spain ??

Post by Max »

Next May I'm taking the Storm to Bilbao, I was wondering if there are any Spain specific bike laws and stuff that I should be aware off. Any info would be helpful

I've ridden in spain a little. Main things I remember are that the roads can be deceptively slippy, especially when they look shiney smooth... Other is make sure your lights are on even during the day as Bikes are required by law to be ridden with the lights on ALL the time. Penalty is an on the spot fine.

Otherwise enjoy, hope you have a great journey.
I got knocked down, but i'll get up again and you'll never ever keep me down!

Keep all your bike and personal documents with you - the rozzers WILL ask for them.

Oh and in my case they gave me an hour to get to a cashpoint and back with the readies. Yes, doing a runner was tempting but they'd already taken my details, so I didn't fancy being on Interpol's most wanted list. :(

I also had a demand for about £60 on the spot. I had no cash so was escourted to cash point (other choice was a police cell) Funny I had to go into an Irish pub to get change and found myself telling the people in the pub "no lads ta but I'll just pay the fine I may not be free to leave the country if you sort if out for me but thanks"
