Better pics of my first storm.

Post by Lord Flasheart »

Hello again everyone. I thought seeing as I've still got no tax until Monday I'd give my new girl a quick polish up as she'd been stood for a while so was a little dusty, and take some better pictures while that big yellow thing in the sky was out!

This made me smile when I spotted it. :)

I'm not convinced by these yet, maybe a little bit to bling for my taste. I have got hold of some original hangers with pillion pegs. I'm toying with the idea of painting the hangers black and getting new plain ali pegs. But not sure how it'd look. Thoughts?

So that's the new love in my life, I'm well chuffed. She's got a few marks here and there, including a couple of little dents on the petrol tank where something apparently fell on a shelf and bounced across the tank  but she's mine and they can be fixed at some point.

She's already got a finned type R/R, but as far as I know it's still running the auto CCT's so as soon as I've plucked up the courage I'll be swapping them out for manuals (anyone who lives nearby and would be kind enough to give me a hand I can pay in all the tea you can drink (or alcohol), and food). Then its cosmetic things like the dent's and the exhaust hangers. And maybe a different set of exhaust's all together, I'm trying to decide if I like the high level ones.

I did see them, but I do occasionally take a pillion so would need the foot pegs. I have seen the alloys that have been carbon dipped or whatever it's called...wonder is the same thing could be done to the hangers??

And which bits of tat are you referring too good sir? There is a few bits I'm not so keen on, but they are things that can be easily changed at some point. And seeing as the bike as a whole looked well looked after, and it was a decent price I forgave the bits I didn't really like.

Very true, money and time permitting! Maybe I'll just have to live with it for now seeing as the sun seems to have made an appearance then change bits over the winter.

tbh I don't like shiny on a sports bike, so the rad covers and exhaust hangers are not my taste, I think the original hangers could easily be hydro dipped in a carbon effect, these guys look good....http://www.pitstopdesigns.co.uk/
for now i'd be tempted to paint those firestorm hangers satin black, go for the stealth look, overall a very nice bike..

Very nice! Looks like a nice example.

Did the previous owner keep forgetting what bike it was though?

LOL. Thing is, mine is black (took me a while to get used to the extra torque) and I seem to get by without having firestorm written all over it?
