the reason I mentioned the idle speed, was because it would make it easier to listern to, as we are more used to listerning to storms that idle between 1000/1200 rpm, his bike is idling much faster. and yes I agree theres something not right, but I've already said that, you and your bloody pop pop bang, next you'll be telling us the storm sounds like a fish!!!!!....

Well the piston sound does. If you make a rounded shape with you lips and then open and close you mouth fast bouncing your top and bottom lip off each other, that's what it sounds like   try it and see :biggrin or is that hear LOL. A similar sound can be achieved by bouncing your hand squarely on top of an empty bottle but the sound will differ according to the shape and size of the bottle. Lips work better.

in the vid it was idling at 1100 rpm, id taken it for a quick spin so not fully warm but not cold.
ill have a go at lowering the idle a touch tomorrow and take another vid.
hopefully Lloyd will be able to pinpoint something on thurs, thanks for the offer!
thanks all for the advice

give it a compression test, then check its not an air leak, they can make engines sound funny. Ours at work squeal with inlet gaskets gone.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Of course I did  I'll be surprised if anyone who read that was able to resist in not giving it ago :biggrin

Getting back tot he video. It's a hard job to tell from a video as it picks up every sound. Doing a comparison check is a good idea I agree,

Lloydie had a listen to my engine the other day, he reckoned he could hear the 200bhp it's pumping out. So I trust him!

Hope you can get the mystery solved lads

I'm interested to see what comes of this... could hear the 'slapping' noise straight off. Hope it doesn't get any more serious than perhaps a dodgy spring for you.
I'm not death to power tools... If it breaks, it's obviously NOT a power tool!!!

No abnormal noises at all .
The noise he was referring to was induction noise .
Sounds like it has 201bhp to me sorry Jamio :-)
