Bigger tank

Post by piggy1 »

Hi peps, I'm wanting to do a little touring on my storm this summer I have a 1998 with a tank the size of a thimble is there a bigger tank I can get which will fit mine? or do I just have to live with stopping every 100 miles :?

It's easy. All you do is search this site until you find the answer. Look up and to the right....

Yes mate - the '02 onwards has a 19ltr tank, but they are like rocking horse poop. Geoff is breaking an 02 yellow peril, put dibs on his tank in the For Sale part of the forum.
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

'01 onwards. But some firestorms were registered late so it's hard to go by just the year. Judging from decals alone though, the yellow peril looks like a pre-01 model with a 16ltr tank

Not de-tuned as such, strangled by emissions is more like the truth, that's when the pairs system was introduced to UK bikes.... :(

I was kidding about the extra torque btw

But on a serious note, I have heard the 16ltr tank harbours an ancient voodoo spell which gives you a 40bhp increase over the 19ltr and if you paint it black, women become easier to pull and fall at your feet

Can confirm, have a black, late model bike with 19ltr tank and frequently swim in clunge. I think it's just the colour tbh
