he was talking about getting one................I am trying to talk him out of it as he has no self restraint!
I thought the same at the time, but if they are not that reliable as others are saying, then perhaps it wouldn't have been good advertising,mattycoops43 wrote:They wouldn't let Ewan have a bike to go 'long way round'. Biggest pr mistake they ever made,
I have the KTM990 SMT, best bike I ever had, not broke yet full of top quality kit WP suspension, Brembo brakes Marchesini wheels etc etc.Salty Dog wrote:I remember people saying that in 1984 when i had a KTM250 EXC.leevtr wrote:It will break. IMO KTM are shite.
And they only 2 or 3 other bikes in their range at that time.
Now they pretty much own the Junior MX scene world wide, Own the Enduro scene in all classes, Good representation in MX and have taken a big slice in the Adventure Bike market, a Motard range, and now a range of road bikes.
Bought out Husaberg, Bought out someone else to lately...
They have done well for a shite bike manufacture.
Owned a few KTM's, i think what i liked most about them, is they were right to go straight out of the crate.
No extra money to spend on quality components or removing stuff.... or *cough cough* endless mods
I have no idea how all this equates to their entry in to road bikes.
Maybe it will break, as they have quoted 15,000K service intervals.
THis engine in an SMT package would be the dog's dangles......storminateacup wrote:I have the KTM990 SMT, best bike I ever had, not broke yet full of top quality kit WP suspension, Brembo brakes Marchesini wheels etc etc.Salty Dog wrote:I remember people saying that in 1984 when i had a KTM250 EXC.leevtr wrote:It will break.
