CCT gone :'(

Post by keitch93 »

Cam chain tensioner went on friday, 70 miles away, had to pay £100 for recovery, apparently chain guide has gone, valve clearances are out, and timins gone.... pulled clutch in straight away and switched off but still no luck :'(. Just wondering based on £25 an hour labour costs, how much this is gonna set me back and wether i should just buy a new lump and wack it in?? Help please :((((

Sorry it's happened! Gutted for you.

I would say to anyone, now is the time to get a manual, get the spanners out and start fixing it yourself, repair bill will be big bucks, but it's not that hard a job as long as you take your time, take advice and go step by step.
Budget storm gradually on the road to spangliness.

That is unfortunate. very bad luck. If the valve clearances are out then that suggests that you have some bent valves so you wont know the exact amount of damage until the head has been removed to visually inspect.
