only had it a few months and I just spilt tea on it this afternoon. Gutted isn't the word! The power went as well, so I'm thinking something fused/shorted somewhere.
Blotted up where I could, have taken a cover off the back that seems to cover the hard drive and it is up on its edge. Do I leave it like that for a few days and hope for the best? Have no contents insurance either
Best thing you can do is get a plastic tub, fill it with mineral oil and put the laptop in, take the hard drive out unless it's a SSD one and take the dvd drive if it's removeabe leave it to soak overnight move it about a bit too help displace water and turn it on in the oil
Great service from John Lewis - got a call, email with pics of damaged bits, and 168 notes to bring back to life as new. Needs new main board, some other board and another part. Well chuffed, and relieved
