It's also worth having a good sh1t before you go for a ride :D
Yeh just ask Geo.

A small fuel tank or just keep the fuel level low surly is a nice cheap way to loose some weight. TBH I don't think there is any cheap weight reductions.

Pro bolt titanium bolts £200-£300
Dymag wheels £500 second hand £2000 new
Carbon bit here and there ££££££££
Titanium bits here and there £££££££
Magnesium bits here and there £££££££

It all adds up to the point where you might as well buy a lighter bike to begin with.

Lightened flywheel would be a good one. Weight reduction and performance boost.

Here is a cheap place to buy Ti and aluminum fasteners: http://torontocycles.com/

I have bought most of my stuff here. They ship overseas for only $5 US and can even colour Ti stuff for you for a very modest fee ($2 US for an entire order!). Granted, it's not as cheap as mild steel stuff, but it's much less expensive than Pro-Bolt and any other place I have found for that matter. I have bought about 90% of my replacement fasteners through them (all except some specialised bits which I have had to get from places like Pro-Bolt, Yoyodyne or Mettec). Their selection is impressive and their service is top-notch.

Very good service from Toronto cycles, following a previous recomendation by Mik, I bought the Ti bolts for my carbs from them.

Good to see you on this side of the pond! You never told me, or at list I don't remember... how did it work out with the CBR1000RR kick stand?

Cheers

When subjected to an electrical voltage of at least 50 volts, a cat's tail always points toward the north.

as i wrote - this thread is not for fancy expensive parts - NO CARBON, NO MAGNESIUM, NO TITANIUM

Smaller tank is a good think, as i mentioned i am thinkig of fiberglass dummy and small plastic tank under it.

Besides taking things off the bike, if you want anything lighter to replace it, its going to cost regardless

The lighter and stronger the more money your gona have to spend buddy

you cold get a race fairing and use your old stuff on ebay as like a cash cow etc

you could also get handy with the drill, drill holes in anything not structural such as gear leavers, rear sets etc etc

you could also drill out bits of plastic and remove as much from the underside / inside as possibles

520 chain and alloy sprockets too if they need swapping any time soon

making a tank to fit the storm is going to be a pain there is that big airbox to work around don't forget, it would be easy to just not fill it up as much,

why would you only want small tank anyway? if you're taking it on the track 10 ltr won't get you very far at all

There was some talk about some bull sh1t in the furtre on a super MOT where a bike will have to basically have the same equipment it had when sold, pillion rests seats etc...

tho i think this super test has been rejected by the majority of europe now according to MCN last week

i did not say it right - i want to keep the bike useful on the road too, and still have the oem seat, so if i had to carry a passanger i jsut put the pillion pegs back and go for a ride

mik_str wrote exactly what i needed, useful numbers

so if he could make it 400lbs wet(no carbon and magnesium), i think 190 kilos, as my goal is something like it, is acheivable

i do not have the money for another bike, even if i had, the light 600s are not for my taste, and there aren`t very light v2 sport bikes

anyone ever ridden one??
