Ive got an issue wthe the fuel tap on the bottom of the tank and where to mount it. My Bandit tank hasnt got one, so I brought a dented up storm tank and cut the mount out the bottom of it to weld on the under side of my bandit jobby.
Nup!!!
No where to mount it with enough cleaence and that will alow me to access rge tap.
Time to do a bit of chin scratchin and think outside that box again. or rather this time I thought i would use the box rather than think outside it.
I had a bit of 50mm box section steel under the bench so I got my bit I cut out the firestorm tank and marked round it
next I drilled holes in each end of the ovel
then drilled them out to the size of the template
after that I used my jigsaw with a steel cutting blade to cut out the rest of the waste material.
then I filed the hole out so the insurt was a snug fit
then welded it into place.
next I made ends and welded them into place to make a sealed chamber.
I'm going to braze a tube in the side of the chamber and under the rear end of the tank that will connect a hose from the tank to the small slave fuel chamber with a in line fuel filter in the middle of the hose.
I also have good access to the fuel tap as well
the small chamber will be powder coated along with the frame a a bundle of other stuff at a later date.
