cheers for all the messages unfortunately i started the bike yesterday to find a nasty metallic rattle on idle gonna strip it today and investigate further.
There a few small jobs i want to get done on the bike over winter. wheel colour change, new brakes as they badly worn tidy rear peg mounts up and fix slight blow on the exhaust and now sort this horrible noise out
from what i can tell it was the front cylinder so defo thinkin cct what is the best manual option to go from seen a set of kreiger ones on flee bay but are these any good i'm new to these and dont want to buy crap lol
ordered a set of kreiger ones the new ebc pads and wavy rear disk have arrived today not changing front disks just yet as they nearly new going to re finish the wheels while its off for the rear disk
Make sure you don't follow the instructions in the Haynes manual for setting the timing as it has detrimental flaws in it. If you follow the instructions here http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8326 you should have no problems. Have a read through and make sure everything is clear to you and if you have any questions or are confused then ask.
