Could do with with some Cibie daylighters on the storm :biggrin Glad to hear your keeping the bike. You would have regretted selling it.

its 1994 *ahem cough cough rover cough cough* 220 gti, she looked like this when we got it
Image

the pic of it looking all nice and shiney was about 4 - 5 weeks after we got it, since then its had all the electrics for the extras stuff re-wired, new clutch, limited slip diff, all the usual servicing stuff, full set of LEDA rally suspension, and a load of other stuff that i cant remember or the pain of open wallet surgey has made me block it from my memory.

Over the winter she is going to get a some new sills, floor pan guards, a better tank guard, new front wings, new front cross member, straighten the front panel and inner wings (she has had a few wacks) and then the hunt for more power will start, so i will be buying a new head to play with, stick a fast road cam in, then get an after market ecu, we should be able to take it from the 120ish bhp she is running now up to around the 170-180 mark, it should then be capable of competing with the 20k mk2 escorts for less than 4k, have no excuse for being slow then.

yeah i thought it was a rover. my mates missus had a saloon version of the 220 gti as a company car when they came out. we used to borrow it to give it a good hiding every so often. lots of wheelspin but if you could get the power down it went like the clappers
