Thanks guys, yes the 954 is defiantly one of the best models of fireblades ever made, had 6 over the years, I sell them, then a few months later realize that I miss it, I think they are even better than the 04 and 07 fireblades that I've had, regardless of power output.

Will get some more pictures of the 954 and storm on later, now I know how to put pictures on.

yes your right, it does look huge, I've changed it for a carbon one now, just the change in colour makes it look not so big  .

Nice 954 mate, spent more time on that this year than my storm, riding position and handling is sublime! Excellent tank range too, got the same pillion cover on my dads too, shame its not blue tho the best colour

Given you have had both can you do me a for and against RR3 vs RR7

I want to get another bike but love the RR7 Repsol looks but never ridden one and the 954 I know from use its a fantastic package and looker and lightweight at 168kg but I miss the storms twin when I've not been on it for a few weeks, so still umming over an SP2

Hi Seb,

The rr7 fireblade is a very good bike, I found it very boring, although it produces an extra 20bhp over the 954, on the road it don't feel like it, handling is not as crisp as the 954. The front suspension is very soft as standard on the rr7 which don't help.

I used to have a blue 954 like your dads, fantastic colour, I had a full akrapovic exhaust, and a power comander with a custom map from H M Racing, producing 151bhp at rear wheel, 20bhp increase with full system and custom map not bad for a 954(more power than the cbr1000rr).

I know many people like me that have had rr7 then gone back to the 954. If I was you Seb go for a 954, or if you can afford go to a rr8 and above as long as you like the styling, and of course the sp2 is a great bike also.

Have you also considered the gsxr 1000 K5/6 another fantastic bike, and powerful engine, just with a end can and custom map, you can get 160bhp at rear wheel, also very big on torque, I will get another one again at some time.

And keep your firestorm as well, I still love going on the storm after being on the 954, its nice to have to 2 completely different bikes with different characteristics.
