Previous bike was the Triumph speed four, but due to parts and servicing taking the utter piss I swapped it for something I knew, another Storm

last bike was kwak GPZ900RA7 red and black one of 12 before it ,making the storm my 14th,had yams, suzis, kwaks, several hondas ,and god help me a hardtail GS850 chop with huge apehangers and shotgun straight thru exhausts,it sounded like the end of world was nigh! GPZ was well fettled hit 160 a couple of times ,but few of them got under my skin quite like this vtr has, must be the noise and torque, could just do with more top end power but theres plenty to do yet(sound familiar?) god bless honda! cheerz ady f

600 Hornet.

Supposed to be a good beginners bike but I found it skipped about a lot. Changed it after a year to the Firestorm which I found much more stable and gave me loads more confidence.

Last bike before the storm was a Blackbird

Image

Loved that bike, which was kindly written off by a mazda deciding to rejoin a roundabout

Insurance money paved the way for a chance encounter with a (now my) vtr

Looking at the pics of the blackbird now, it looks like a right fatty :eek2

I had a Blackbird for a weekend when the Storm was off the road. Hated it, no comparison - like comparing a garden fork with a spade. Thought it was like a sofa on heat in a straight line, anything else was yuk. Would be good if you want to devour miles at high speed in Europe etc I guess

Touring it's a great bike, I actually got offered one today from a bloke at work! I didn't really have a problem hustling it about but that is the main gripe of most people. Tbh it was so good at touring and so comfy it was a bit of a culture shock when I bought the storm! I now have a BMW r1100gs for touring which has surprised me in being a much more capable tourer...although it is a fat lump at a standstill it will keep up with most bikes in the twisties with its pilot road 2s fitted.
I do miss the out-and-out acceleration of the blackbird...but it's not often that such acc and huge speeds are appropriate (private roads of course). My satnav still has the top speed recorded on it from the blackbird...won't be beating that any time soon!

The Firestorm is my first and only bike! Straight onto it from DAS, my instructor said "could you not get a smaller bike!"

2 years on and love it more and more as my experience grows
