I now certain models of the GSXR1000 6 pot calipers bolt straight on, I have a feeling some of the 1200 bandits also fit, probably the same calipers as the GSXR. Try measuring the distance from the fixing bolt hole centers and see if they are the same. If the TL ones do fit make sure the brake pads are making the correct contact with the brake disc's before riding the bike.

These 6pot calipers from GSXR1000 and GSX1400 which are direct fit are not the same as on TL1000R and SRAD750 - different mounting.

Other thing is that master cylinder from CBR600F4i is better improvement, as calipers on storm are not so bad, but it´s not answering the question ... :-)

i have read many times that the 6 pots arnt worth more than the look and they dont offer much more stopping power over a set of well sorted 4 pots

While I agree, probably not the best set-up for performance, although that will depend on your style of riding to a degree, Kitch fitted GSXR1000 six pots to his bike. Scroll down to the 8th photo from this link below, also note he uses a different master cylinder:-

FWIW, having reserached this matter prior to doing a calioper swap on my VTR a few years back, it seems that a faire number of owners of early model GSX-R1000s (the ones with teh 6-pots) swapped them out for the four-pot Nissins used on Honda sportbikes of the day as an upgrade. The said Nissins require a slight bit of grinding (for stock forks anyhow) and bolt right up. Also, according to those in teh know, these calipers are said to be some of the very best OEM calipers ever offered on any bike.

Take it for what it`s worth.......

I had to have a friend ride my bike how a few weeks ago (slipped with a knife at work ouch) he owns a Suzuki bandit Mk, and he couldn't believe how good the standard brakes on the firestorm where said they where best hes ever used on any bike both of his bikes have been Suzuki, which makes me think as i know the brakes on my firestorm are due a refresh i have at least one sticky piston and they are abit grubby, his brakes must be really crap...

caliper adapters

Mik is correct, the 6 pots caused over heating and warped discs. They were swapped to the 4 pots on later models.
No bike (yet).

I beleive they also had issues with sticking pistons (which led to uneven pad wear), and fading (aluminum pistons?).... anyhow, you`d be much better off with Nissin four-pots unless, of course, your main objective is bling......
