Nah Pete, still on wife number two, one or two of the female patients at work have suggested some very rude things...........mind you they were in their 70's and on zimmers, and wearing those fetching backless hospital gowns...............who knows, maybe one day saggy buttocks will be a turn on.

Dont know what you mean about poor choice of bike............I mean the BMW was ace...an the Harley was just magic.

Pass me the medication..............for heavens sake................now thats better; the Harley was pants................uncomfortable, grounded out even when up right.
The first few weeks was ...........reflection in shop windows............mmm cool bloke on Harley............always wanted to try one............then started to look again an saw fat bloke on a harley trying to look like I was enjoying it.

Worst part was othe fat bearded blokes on Harleys stopping me and asking if i wanted to join their club....leather, moustache kinda guys. Fair put the willies up me..................look forward to getting another vtr. honest X X X X
it may be clever, but its not big.

All I can say is, 2003 must have been an exceedingly good year :D

Paul,
only joking about the wives :P ....okay, and your choice of bikes. But look on the bright side, at least the Harley got you out and about and making new friends

Wasn't 2003 when the sight move from the vtr1000.co.uk to vtr1000.org and we were all members on the old sight and had to move over to the new one?

I'm not sure if i qualify as old as I turned 46 last Tuesday but do not consider myself old in the slightest!! I have found this site 100% invaluable in terms of gaining knowledge from the workshop section and have learnt a lot. All of that would not have been possible without the odd 'old hand' to post it all up in the first place!
Good to see PeteL hasn;t lost his soh! lol..

Hi all

Was just ploddding round on one of my now quite rare visits and saw this thread.
Good to see some of the "old" names.

I've still got my battered SP, which is going well - 'specially since I fitted a new PC and de-activated the intake flap.

Still riding my old Velocette KSS and working at building a Velocette KTT MkVIII.

I'm up for a ride out this year (but I say that every year!).

John, good to see you're still dropping in, even if it is not that often

Keep up the good work with the Velocette KTT MkVIII,

Chris.

Thanks Chris,

Currently machining the cylinder head. Very slow going since I'm spending more time making special tools than actually doing the head!
Still, if I finish it OK I can probably do another and sell it.
Hope to see you at a meet this year somewhen.

Hay Jag
Glad to hear you still have the SP. There's a SP run going to north wales at the end on April if you're interested. I've been thinking of going up Friday, booking a couple of nights and coming back Sunday if your interested.

Chris,
Watch out bud I'll be in your neck of the woods too this summer. Mum and Dad have given me the spare set of keys to their place in Wadebridge and that's only a hop skip and a jump from you

Hello from another of the Old Git's

I still lurk here and am currently riding around on a Triumph Sprint RS. I am very grumpy these days as I spend too much time at work and not enough out playing

I still have fond memories of being sat in a hotel in Coalville having a beer and there being a wedding on, Funniest comment I have heard in a long time from Rainmaker :D

The lakes was rather good fun too, "fear the Spork"

Iggy/ Jag ,
I remember Coalville just like it was yesterday, and the hump backed bridge 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O I thought that was it, and remember the comment from who ever was behind me, saying "you started braking hard and then you were up in the air and I thought it was hilarious, but then ffs it was my time to go over :o " panniers and tank bags all over the place. :eek2

I hadn't a clue where I was going especially coming back in to Coalville where you took over Iggy, I still believe to this day Simon went via the HB Bridge for a laugh

Cheers
