1st Ride out
Well i`ve just come back from my first ride out on the VTR. First impressions are the gearing between 1st and 2nd are very long,i always felt like i needed to be in a lower gear than i needed to! The acceleration is amazing,i was upto 3 figures very, very quickly!! With it being damp out there,i like to use the back brake a lot more than usual, this being my first bike in over 8 years and i thought there wasn`t a lot of feel to it! The only other thing i can say is due to me having 3 operations on my wrists,my right one was aching after only 20 miles, but this will soon be fettled as i have a top yoke conversion kit on it`s way But i have to say on 1st impressions i`d say 7/10

hi Kneewobbler,KneeWobblers wrote:Is the front suspension dialled all the way in (pre load)? If not do it. You look like you are carrying a bit of spare flesh (like me ) and this helped alot with the handling, also 1 turn out from all in on the rebound, see if that feels better.... Is it on standard gearing? 4 extra teeth on the back brings it to life
i'm having the same problem, i'm 14 stone, could you talk me through setting the front suspension bearing in mind i haven't got a clue about mechanical things, cheers alec

Re: 1st Ride out
Hi,cheers for the advice,i am 14 stone as well, but the guy i bought it from seemed to think the suspension had been adjusted in someway because the rear shock has a purple spring on it and the front he says has been uprated too. I found the link for down loading the honda workshop manual and i`ll see what the gearing is meant to be and check mineKneeWobblers wrote:Is the front suspension dialled all the way in (pre load)? Sounds like a Maxton rear spring.Enzo_Skyline wrote: the rear shock has a purple spring on it and the front he says has been uprated too.
Have the front forks got any stickers on the lowers? Might have had the lot done at the same place?

Seriously, he's ok and that boy can weld Helped me out a few times. When asked why i dont do something to my bike, my usual answer is "I dont need to, I have a Warby" Though on reflection that sounds a bit gay, maybe i should get one of them nice leather jackets that Jay bloke has spat his dummy over

Re: 1st Ride out
I got a message of warby last night and he linked me to two previous threads on my bike, and i have to say he is a GOD!!!! All the work he`s done is amazing,i can`t believe my luck getting the bike. I waited two weeks before i went down to see it,i`m very surprised somebody else didn`t snap it up sooner....
