March 6th, latest fettles....

Post by cliveyandrews »

Undertray (sprayed myself), resited indicators to stop them melting so bad, SP1 (RC51) throttle tube, FireBlade Master Cylinder and lever - and finally got the rear braided brake hose on.....

Then modified the number plate by clouting it with the paddock stand handle as I pushed it off, butt....

Image

I like the feel of the brake lever - I must've bled the original 'Storm one a dozen times - the Blade was was firm first bleed.... Not sure what gains are from the Throttle tube - but it does feel quicker (wheelie-tastic)....

Still got the DGi, new chain and hugger to fit.....

It's looking great Clive  I like the colour matching crash helmet and rear brake line.

The undertray definitely tidies the rear end up

Chris.
I'm such a tart lol - even the tax disk holder is orange. The front lines are orange too, natch. I will leave the hugger black though (when/if I ever fit it) I really fancy the idea of a black powedercoated frame - but I need the bike for transport - and a broken back isn't condusive to lifting engines out (I even have to get help to lift the lump out of my GT550) - but there is every chance that I might get the rear spring coated orange over the winter.

I have to change the indicators for short ones - they ar still in the path of the exhaust, and melting/getting shaken to pieces....

Anyone know which flush mount indicators would fit inside the front indicator holes. I had hoped it would be fireblade - but I hear not.... I have some triangular ones to french into the front "intake holes" but wanna flush something on the sides...

There's no excuse I'm afraid Clive (well apart from you need it for transport that is  ) as the Firestorm frame can be lifted off the engine, so no need for lifting the engine on this bike. Just support the bike underneath the sump first

Like the Turin Shroud effect.

"My vertebrae compressed and I saw God" :D
-now that's what I call acceleration.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

:p
was that a compression injury from hitting sumat?
i did mine in 82, doing about 70 at the time into a car doing about 40 according to plod.
the vertebrae either side of d6&7 took most of the impact.
didn't have it braced like that though, they just put me in traction for months lol - same week barry sheen did his legs.
if it's any consolation i don't have any real after effects nearly 30yrs on, apart from just have to watch my posture when lifting heavy stuff - like dropped bikes lol :)

they said i could get mechanical aids - so i have to be carefull about sharing sex toys.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Compression from hitting a bus that pulled out in front of me!

T4 and T5 shattered, T6 fractured, they took 2 away and put that Titanium cage in. I have a plate in my arm that I broke too, I ruptured my spleen, but that recovered. So - I too have to be a little careful about lifting now. Worst thing is it gets inflamed and I lose the feeling in my legs...

But,

Still walking, and still biking - and as they say "chicks dig scars!"

Mine?

It came with the bike - but is gonna be changed soon - I have one that I'm modifying a bit first. It'll still be black, with the orange wings. Pauline has already got dibs on the old one !
