Howdy!
Howdy!
Hey folks,
I've been on the hunt for a Firestorm after I chased Geordie round Ayrshire... the noise from the v-twin is awesome!!
Picked mine up yesterday - 98, Red, high-level Evo Blue Flame exhausts.... Love it!!
...well, I did love it till I flooded it this morning when trying to start it!
I took that as a chance to get to know it better, so I stripped it all down, drained the carbs then fitted the manual CCTs which came with it. There was no noise from the Honda items, but better to be safe than sorry! Kudos to the forum for the walkthrough!!
I did discover a slight issue which will be putting a stop to my enjoyment of the bike for a short while... but seeing as this isn't the 'workshop' section, I'll create a new post in the right section!
cheers!

welcome! and respect for getting stuck straight in with the spanners.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Hey Stevie - Yep, tis me..
It's a small world!!
The 'cat was a fantastic bike, but it's totally different to the vtr.
With the V-twin, there's always power available whereas on the cat you really had to be over 6k revs to be going anywhere quickly. The VTR also feels much smaller and lighter!
Its also a hell of a lot quicker...
Currently having to sort out a few niggles though, should be back on the road by the time this rain clears off!
Hopefully catch you out and about soon.
Matt.
