Popping on the over run is normally due to either too lean a mixture or most common, air getting into the exhaust through a leaky joint.
What sort of set up have you got?
i.e Cans, filter ect

Mine pops like a mental think and yes the exhaust clamps fo leak, love it.
On overrun it sounds like an angry predator snarling and growling and then the throttle and on comes the ROAR!! YES!!!
I got knocked down, but i'll get up again and you'll never ever keep me down!
I've got Scorpion cans, a K&N filter and a dyno-jet kit.
The thing is that it was not popping at all before the service and I don't think that they would have bee nfiddling around with the exhaust, so it's probably running a bit lean in that case.
It might just be a new set of plugs burning more efficiantly than the old or the filter has been cleaned and more air is flowing or the shims correctly resized allowing more through or a combination of the whole lot. Ask the garage to check out the mixture if you are worried. No point in having it run better if it might only last a short while.
