Seeing as I'm mising out on the Storm weekend, I would defo do a run to South Wales as been contemplating this for a while as have 10 days off in early July and a Sat- Wed off Aug 21st. .My youngest girl lives in Gorseinon and my eldest girl lives in Grangetown Cardiff so been thinking of doing SW wales for a while. My young un lives with a guy who is from Pontadawe (spell check!!) and his folks address is even more strange than their address. They come up here quite often but always go there in the car. it is around 400 miles from here.

Me & Dave stayed in Abergavenny last summer so we could skip down to Swansea in 40 mins go the local B roads, and I couldn't believe how nice a route it was so it would be even more so on the bikes. My fella loves this part of the UK and he did the Snowden Marathon twice! I mostly run a bath...lol..Mind, the road signs in Wales leave a lot to be desired and often find the sign AFTER you have taken a turn or exit off...not to mention the speed cameras! Blimey, how many going into Cardiff? Nearly as bad as headign into Edinburgh....

I'm almost certainly going to do it this summer. Btw, where the heck did you have your camera??

Well it would be more than a pleasure to escort to pair of you, it would be rude not to. :D
Abergavenny is one of my favorite stop offs and I know plenty of routes from there. If we get a few of us together it should be a real good laugh :D

If you check this pic, you will see it mounted on the fairing.

Excellent. I am looking to come up during the week though to avoid tourists. I'm thinking ride up 140 miles Tuesday and get into the B&B. Then do about 40 miles of B roads then back to the B&B. On Wednesday, do a circuit up to Snowdonia and out to coast and then anti-clockwise around the coast, onto the beacons and back to the B&B. Ride home on the Thursday. Does that sound doable Pete?

That could work well for us in case we fancy taking a short trip to portugal before I have to get back to work..

The 40 miles was based on the fact that I may be riding up after work. If I take the day off, I could do more :)

So for me the itinerary is starting to look like this;

Get booked into this B&B as they have a garage, its more central and looks nice :)
http://www.llandoverybandb.co.uk/

Tuesday 6th July
Ride up to B&B and drop off any gear.
Ride out around Wales
Eat
Sleep

Wednesday 7th July
Eat
Ride out around Wales
Eat
Sleep

Thursday 8th July
Eat
Ride out around Wales
Head home

We could perhaps stop off in a pub for lunch or see if the B&B will provide packed lunch so we can sit anywhere amongst the amazing scenery and eat.

I'd be happy to meet you in Bristol on the way up if you like Pete. Head to Llandovery so I can drop stuff off and then do a loop back to Llandovery.

That could be good
I could take you off the main roads up to about Usk and stop you getting bored of motorways.
We'd probably be ready for a brake and fuel by the time we reach Llandovery, then another little spin before I return home. Sounds like a plan

Anotherbikerbabe,

Does this work for you? Meet up at the B&B on the Tuesday?
