Indicator switch gear

Post by Dazza2910 »

Now that I've got the indicators on, the switchgear seems a bit temperamental. Indicator switch doesn't feel quite right and doesn't work 100% of the time. Full beam button is also a bit sticky.

Are they easy enough to strip and fix or best just to replace.

Electrics not my strong point so just thought I'd ask.

Cheers

First off get yourself some contact cleaner, spray it in & around the buttons & work them in & out/side to side.

If that doesn't improve things then strip it down for a deep clean but be aware there are springs & small ball bearings in there, waiting to pop out & hide next to your 10mm socket never to be seen again... 8O

If you can find a replacement unit will it be any better ?

Thanks Mac. Bit of WD40 is all I've tried so far.

Will get some contact cleaner from work. Have seen switchgear on eBay for £20 or so that are sold as working so that's always a possibility.

Will have a look at it tomorrow.

Cheers
