FI light non starter

Post by JohnboyVTR »

Hi,

After a good look through the site I’m still at a loose end.
2001 SP1 ignition on FI light stays on and nothing on the starter button.
Has anyone had this fault before, I’ve searched and faults range from ECU, tilt switch, starter relay.
I’ve had the bike start twice randomly and then won’t start again no matter what wires I check and wiggle!

Seeing if anyone has had this fault befor I buy part after part?

Cheers. 👍🏻

Fuel pump? That's the most likely culprit, but if its started twice at random, check the wiring and fuse supplying it first.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Lots of things it could be, has it got an alarm or imobilizer, there could be a fault. could be the sidestand switch, kill switch, clutch switch, battery problem. there's lots of stuff to check and test. a multimeter will come in handy along with someone with good electrical knowledge.

Tidy, I will have a look at the fuel pump and go from there.
No alarm or side stand fitted and both blanked off.
Thanks for your input
