generator output

Post by Flatline »

There's a lot of electrical extras that can be used on a bike

What's the amount of extra load we can draw without too much trouble?

Very little extra
Max the VTR charging system can put out is 23.3 amps or 279.6 watts, but that is at a specific RPM, not across the entire range.
Better to consider it more like 20 amps or 240 watts.

Each bike is a bit different based on set up conditions and each charging system part variance. Best bet is to use an amp meter and measure what your bike uses when running at "normal" use...
You can safely use about 60 additional watts, after that if you don't want to risk drawing off your battery or want to use every available watt for heated gear, lights, GPS, ect...... Test your bike.
