Good day all.
Is there anyway to properly identify the camshafts in my storm. When I bought the bike I was lead to believe it had aftermarket cams fitted ( possibly re profiled )
Now I ve got the motor on the bench while I have bits sent away etc etc , How can I properly Identify My cams ? They dont seem to have any markings on them. But can I measure them ? Has anyone got any info ?
Thanks
Camshaft Identification
Re: Camshaft Identification
You would need a dial indicator, base to attach it to head.. cam timing wheel and adapter for the SH
After all that is set up on the motor, you can measure lift, opening and closing timings ect...
From my notes
Stock cams are
Open/Close/Cam Lift (mm)/ Lobe Center/Duration
IN::BTDC 20/ABDC 45/10.16/102.5 (249 deg. duration)
EX::BBDC 50/ATDC 15/11.05/107.5 (272 deg. duration)
NOTE: this is a compilation of two sets of data I have seen...
Im confident the duration and lift is accurate, less confident the opening and closing are accurate
