Tank prep advice for painting

Post by freeridenick »

The bodywork is all fiberglass and gelcoat so I'm OK with that. I could do with some advice for the tank though. How do folks remove the stickers and do you go back to metal or not?

Heat from hairdryer or with the heatwave leave in sun and scrape of with woody thing (I just use half a wooden clothes peg as a scraper) - bring an edge up of a decal carefully with a stanley knife blade. If paint is in relatively good nick leave on and just key with wet&dry.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
