Vtr runs but not firing on front cylinder.....help

Post by Vtrmike0284 »

My vtr had been sat for 3 years in the garage following an accident I charged the battery up and pulled choke and started but front cylinder isn't firing, pulled the plug cap off and tried to see if it's sparking which the spark is all over the place through the cap and I don't have a plug spanner to fit any help would be appreciated could it just be a plug or cap or fuel??

I would have thought that the carbs need removing and cleaning after three years of standing.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Yep they be well gummed up and the pilot be blocked .

Did you drain the carbs before letting it sit for years ?

And buy a spark plug spanner that fits.
The original toolkit one works fine.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
