screeching noise on starting

Post by Keef »

ok,so I just bought a Storm/joined forum,but have got a starting problem.
sorry,I know this has been discussed before, and I have searched for it here,I realise it is almost certainly the starter transfer gears, but, has any one got any good ones to sell,or point me in the right direction for a set, also any one who can help me fit them, west mids,or nearish ?
HELP !

so....
decided to strip it anyway,er,just to have a look,as you do,had to fabricate a flywheel puller (which took longer than the rest of the job) pulled it all apart, call me mr Impatient,if you will, but thought if the transfer gears are worn anyway, may as well try the welding them up trick.
So that's what I did,all back together no probs,apart from needing a new generator gasket,tested,starts well,no screeching.

Still after a set of good transfer gears,if anyone's got some to sell,as I would prefer it to be how mr Honda intended

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Does the bike have manual tensioners in it, when changing mine, it screeched when adjusting them to tight.
