How did you get on Max. Did you get out on the bike today. Mine had a good thrashing today, two tanks worth all the way down to Bognor and back. Back end slips out a bit when giving it some full throttle if not careful. I also found following cars at a steady 20-30mph on B roads a bit twitchy on the throttle especially when hitting bumps in the road.

Sorry about the delay work got in the way, managed to get out on the bike wednesday. there is a noticeable difference to the way the bike goes. If i hadnt just renewed the chain and sprockets I might be tempted to go a little higher again on the gearing, that said it does accelerate noticeably faster especially mid range. the other thing i thought was she pulled cleaner from lower revs as well, I was trundling around over the black mountains and theres a couple of bends where she has to chug around normally but she pulled without chugging. I dont know if its me but i think the she changes direction quicker as well, dont know how that bit works it might just be me. Did about 200 miles and I like the change. Top gear work on fast roads took a bit of getting used to, the engine breaking increase is very noticeable at higher speeds.

I have a little more that 13,000 miles on mine now,,,, most of that time spent at 6k rpm or more.

No issues so far... motor gets torn down this coming winter so I'll have a better idea then if it is causing an issue.
(NOTE: No abnormal bearing, crank wear means all is well, some abnormal wear may be an indicator, but not definitive as to it being caused by the lightened flywheel, still it'll be a good look/test)

So if I was going to go a bit on the extreme side but not to far, what spec would I take it to?

I cut a "mild" one initially, it was fun, but I soon got bored & wanted lighter.

Then I cut an ultra light one to the late Benny's specs (mentioned previously in the thread).

The ultra one is the one to go for in my opinion

You won't be sorry, its a hoot

Is anyone still supplying these or is it a case of having one machined? Atb.
