I have an undertray fitted. Not sure on the make but think it is a powerbronze one. There are not to hard to fit. Just a little time consuming. Well maybe an hour or so. Best thing to do which I didn't do is cut out the centre of the original one, don't cut off the whole lot off from the battery box like I did. Mine is nice and secure but the original tray can be used to secure the after market one.

A nice little grave dig, but I would like some assistance from those who have fitted an undertray. I have taken delivery of a Powerbronze unit, and I have hit a wall regarding fitment when it comes to the lock. The hole in the undertray is a perfect fit for the lock barrel, but obviously adding another 2 or 3mm of thickness prevents the OEM spring type locking ring to fit. Adding to the issue is when the fixing holes halfway down are butted up, as if mounted, the angle of the lock mount panel are different between the OEM undertray and the Powerbronze.

Have others totally removed the OEM lock mounting surface? I am wondering whether to do this but it will remove the stopper which prevents the lock barrel from rotating.

I have noticed in the above pictures, the OEM undertray is fairly intact but also the lock hole is larger in that undertray, meaning the lock only fixes in the OEM position, so the lock retaining issues I am having are irrelevant in that case.

Any useful tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Just file out the primal fitment hole so the you have clearance when the lock is fitted in the outer part.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hi Tony, thanks. I was thinking about it at work today and came up with the same solution. Getting frustrated lately as I have a VTR in pieces, little time to play shed time, and spring is 2 days away... When I started to look at the undertray last night, its been so long since I had quality shed time, I had forgotten where I was up to, and what I was doing.

I currently have the undertray half fitted, hugger half fitted, front Proton flushmounts fitted but fairing on the ground as I want to move my overflow bottle, and its easier with the fairing off. I also have a Facet pump in the cupboard to go on, and also modding my spare slides. And got my airbox project being played with occasionally. Got a bit of a list......

The undertray on mine has made it very awkward to get to the seat release catch. I don't know the make as it was already fitted and there is room to get the key in but to turn the key is a different matter.

I'll try to put some pics up but I was just going to go at it with a dremel over the winter when I have more time.
