vara/storm mate up

Post by fabiostar »

guys need a question answered for a friend of mine before he takes the plunge.

a vara ,does a vtr engine fit straight in? as in straight bolt in or is there a difference in the mounting points? hes not worried about pipes or carbs of electrics, just if the engine fits in the vara frame
the older i get,the faster i was

Yes, the crankcases are identical.
That's why you can drop a set of Storm gear shafts into five-speed Vara case set (the early ones were 5 speed), or swap the cams and pistons.

If you change the exhausts as well, they will need custom mounts as the can mounting points are different.

But the mounting points for the engine to frame are the same.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Or was it your accent and you fancied a ride-out with a Varadero owner?
