Haynes Motorcycle Fuel Systems Techbook

Post by jchesshyre »

I bought this a while ago and have dipped into it now and then, but have decided to properly study it from cover to cover and it's really interesting. It mentions a fair bit about aspects which have come up over the years on here about airbox design, large carburettors, air flow, bellmouth length, and a load more.

Once my study of it is complete I'll try and find the time to put together a summary of any findings relevant to the Firestorm. Of course reading a book like this and having done a fair few bits of tweaking to my carbs is nothing compared to the experience of the likes of 8541Hawk and others, but if I do find anything that adds to the wisdom already on the stickies in the Workshop section then I'll make sure I share it!

(Amused and pleased to see 38 mm carbs described as the size commonly fitted to large bikes – when ours are a whole 10 mm bigger than that)

Interesting--didn't know they did this.
Just bought a copy for 4.99 delivered on biblio.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
