New home for the ladies

Post by StormyRob »

May seem small but I have wanted this for a long time. Moved house over the last few days. Best I have ever had is a shed and now the ladies have a garage which will soon also have electricity. Very very pleased indeedImage

Now's the time to rip the roof off and replace with something with a steeper pitch on another row of breeze blocks to make it higher.
Two major advantages:
You can build in a hoist strong enough to lift the bike off the ground
You can get enough headroom to be able to use a ramp.

Lastly, more storage space in the eaves.

Once you've fitted benches and filled it up it's too much work to do later.

Also, fit more strip lights than originally seems necessary, on the eaves as well as centrally above.
It means you never have to work in your own shadow.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I don't think the roof will be coming off anytime soon 😂

But strip lights will be going in. Can get them pretty cheap. Should do the job.

I'd be tempted to rip it down and build a bigger one with space for a sofa, tv, toilet, kichennette and then move in :biggrin Oh..and you better get rid of the weed growing in the garage before the cops come  That roof looks like solid concrete. If you was to raise it you could use acros to jack it up, stick another layer on and then lower it back down. Make sure it's watertight before painting and installing electricks etc. Get a tin of damp seal and coat it all especially around base where the concrete DPC is. What about the other ladies, are they enjoying their new home.
